Long-wear extensions that stay in for months rather than hours — tape-in, keratin fusion, weft and nano ring. Fitted strand by strand or row by row at our Chennai studios, in 100% human hair matched to your own.
No hair extension is permanent in the literal sense, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. What the word means in practice is semi-permanent: the hair is attached to your own and stays there through washing, sleeping and styling until a stylist removes it — typically 6–8 weeks for tape and weft, 8–12 weeks for nano rings, and 3–6 months for keratin bonds.
The trade-off is honest. Long-wear methods look and move better than clip-ins because nothing is taken in and out daily, but they need a maintenance visit on schedule. Skip that visit and the attachment point grows away from the scalp, which is where damage actually comes from — not from the extensions themselves.
Chennai's humidity is the other thing worth planning for. Heat and sweat loosen adhesive faster than a dry climate does, which is why tape sometimes needs refitting closer to six weeks here than eight. Nano rings and keratin bonds are unaffected by humidity because nothing adhesive is holding them — a real consideration if you are outdoors or at the gym most days. Wear time and application time are what separate these methods on cost, not the hair itself — the hair extension price list sets out what each one includes. For the intervals in detail see how long each method lasts, and if you are weighing this against clip-ins, clip-in vs permanent sets the two side by side.
| Method | Wear time | Application | Best for | Removal |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tape-in | 6–8 weeks | 1–1.5 hours | Fine to medium hair, fast turnaround | Solvent, reusable hair |
| Weft / sew-in | 6–8 weeks | 1.5–2 hours | Thick hair, maximum volume | Unpicked, hair reused |
| Micro / nano ring | 8–12 weeks | 2–3 hours | Fine or fragile hair, no heat or glue | Ring opened, no residue |
| Keratin fusion | 3–6 months | 3–4 hours | Strong hair, the most natural movement | Bond broken down, strand by strand |
Wear times assume a maintenance visit on schedule. Exact pricing depends on length, weight and colour match — we quote after seeing your hair.
Worth it for the right hair and the wrong choice for the rest — which is why this page sits beside our hair extension services rather than instead of them. Here is the honest arithmetic.
Tape and weft are moved up every six to eight weeks; keratin bonds stay in longest between visits; nano rings are re-clamped on a similar rhythm to tape. The table above shows the wear time for each, and our how-long guide gives the timelines method by method, including how long the hair itself lasts across refits.
A clip-in set from ₹6,000 gives length for an evening and comes out at night; a long-wear fitting gives hair that is simply there — swimming, gym, sleep — at the price of a maintenance visit on schedule. If you wear extensions fewer than a few days a month, temporary wins; more than that, permanent does. The clip-in versus permanent guide works through it.
Every long-wear method needs a maintenance visit from ₹3,000 and, when you stop, a removal from ₹2,000 — the price of any of them is the fitting plus that rhythm, never the fitting alone. Removal is done in the studio, method by method: tape released with a solvent, keratin bonds softened, rings opened. Our maintenance guide covers the care in between.
From ₹10,000 for tape to ₹16,000 for nano ring on the price list, always in permanent human hair — Remy or raw Indian — and always quoted for your grams and length after a free consultation. Women with fine hair should read the thin-hair page first: the right long-wear method there is the lightest, not the longest-lasting.

Keratin fusion bonds last the longest — three to six months in a single fitting. Nano and micro rings follow at eight to twelve weeks, then tape and weft at six to eight weeks. Clip-ins are reusable for a year or more but come out every night, so they are not a long-wear method in the same sense.
They should not, if the method suits your hair and you keep the maintenance visits. Damage almost always comes from weight your hair cannot carry, or from leaving them in months past due.
Between an hour and a half and four hours depending on method. Keratin fusion is the longest because every strand is bonded individually.
Yes to both, after the first 48 hours. We will show you how to wash and dry so the attachment points stay clean and dry.
You come back and we take them out properly. Never pull extensions out yourself — that is where breakage happens.
Your own roots, yes — we do that here. Colouring the extension hair itself is possible going darker but risky going lighter, so we prefer to match the shade correctly at the start.
Come in and we will refit it. A single early slip is normal and takes minutes; several usually means the weight is wrong for your hair and we will reassess.
No. Nothing here is irreversible. When you want them out we remove them properly, and your own hair carries on as it was.
Wait 48 hours, then wash normally. The first wash matters: shampoo at the scalp, condition from the mid-lengths down, and dry the attachment points properly rather than leaving them damp. We walk you through it before you leave.
Book a consultation and we will tell you honestly which long-wear method your hair can carry, and which it cannot.
