Why systems need servicing
A hair system is worn against skin every day, in Chennai heat. Oil and sweat break down the base, sunlight lifts the colour, and the hair at the front thins out first because that is what gets touched and styled most. Left alone, a system that could have lasted a year starts looking wrong in four months.
Regular servicing resets it: the base is cleaned properly, loose knots are redone, colour is corrected back to your shade, and the hair is re-cut to the shape you actually wear. Most clients come every six to eight weeks, and it roughly doubles how long a system lasts.
What a servicing visit involves — and what to do between them
At the visit
A bonded system is taken off, and the base and your scalp are cleaned properly. The hair is deep-cleaned and conditioned, areas that have shed are re-knotted, colour that has lifted in the sun is brought back to your shade, and the piece is re-cut to the shape you actually wear rather than the shape it arrived in. It goes back on with fresh bond or tape, and on toppers and wigs the clips, tape or grips are checked and replaced. A clean and re-cut takes about an hour and you can wait; re-knotting and colour work usually mean leaving the piece with us and collecting it.
Signs it is due
The base lifting at the front, hair shedding from the front hairline, colour that has gone warmer than yours, a shape that no longer sits, or an itch under the base that a wash does not fix. Any one of these means book; two mean book this week. Waiting is what turns a year-long piece into a four-month one.
Between visits
Wash on the schedule we set for how often you wear it, with a sulphate-free shampoo and cool-to-warm water. Keep oil, serum and anything silicone-based away from the bond or tape. Tie hair loosely for sleep, keep heat off the base itself, and resist pulling at the front hairline to check it — that is where the hair goes first. We write the routine down at the fitting and go through it again at the first service.
Whose pieces, and what it costs
Anyone wearing a system, topper or wig — fitted here or bought anywhere else. A clean and re-cut is the smallest job; re-knotting is priced by the area; colour and re-fit depend on the piece. We tell you the figure after looking at it and before starting, and same-day service is available if you ask when booking.
