Fine hair can absolutely take extensions — but only some methods, and only at the right weight. Fitted wrong, extensions make thin hair worse. This page is about which ones are safe, and which we will refuse to fit.
Every extension hangs off your own strands. Fine hair can carry less, so the honest limit is grams, not preference. Nano rings work well because each ring holds only a few strands, spreading the load. Tape works when placed sparsely. Heavy weft rows and thick keratin bonds are usually the wrong call on fine hair — they concentrate weight and that is what causes traction damage at the root.
There is also a difference between thin and thinning. Hair that has always been fine is stable and takes extensions well. Hair that is actively shedding is a different question, and adding weight to it can make things worse. If that is what we see, we will tell you to get the shedding looked at first, and suggest a topper instead.

Not if the weight is right and maintenance is kept. They get worse when too much hair is added, or when extensions are left in months past due.
Nano rings, usually. Each ring carries very little hair, there is no heat or glue, and removal leaves nothing behind.
A parting is better covered by a topper. Extensions add length and body but do not cover the scalp where it shows most.
